"Butbut... Being a good girl is hard." Mei continued to pout. "And it's no fun either." Well, it wasn't any fun with Kaeru around, anyways. She didn't exactly want to jump his bones- as of yet- but she didn't want to just sit there and have conversations. "Is there a reason you don't want to tell me? Why don't you want to?" If there was some horribly mind-scarring reason that he was so reluctant to answer her, then she'd stop asking, and wait until he wanted to tell her. "If it bothers you that much..." She fell silent, not knowing what else to really say.
Thankfully, the need to give directions distracted her. "Uhh. Well. You know that road that you turn right on to get to the school when you come from town? Turn left on that. And somewhere on your side of the road will be a sign that says beware of dog. There's a little road there- turn on it, and just keep going on it. My house is at the end of that." she instructed him, hoping that he would be able to understand what she meant. Mei was notoriously horrible at giving directions.

"Butbut... Being a good girl is hard. And it's no fun either."
At that Kaeru grinned a smug almost lecherous grin, but decided to take the high road and not completely embarase the girl next to him. That would be much to easy, he thought, besides some jokes perhaps shouldn't be made. . . in light of circumstance. And although his thoughts were somewhat altruistic, his grin portrayed something else entirely.
"Is there a reason you don't want to tell me? Why don't you want to?"
At that his grin sobered. Damn, he cursed, shouldn't have mentioned it at all. That was a fuck all dumb thing to mention to a stranger. "The Seven Swordsmen. . . I shouldn't have mentioned it at all," he gave a nervous laugh, "just forget about it, eh?" It was a weak hope at best. A perfect example of the pink elephant. A shame really, he rather enjoyed Mei's company. With a small sigh he reached across Mei's lap, his fingers grazing her legs to get into the glove compartment, where he pulled out a pack of cigarettes. He lit one while driving with his left knee. Hands back on the wheel he took a drag and began to listen to Mei's instructions.

He only nodded at her words and followed her directions to the letter, looking out for the landmarks she spoke of. Soon enough he stopped in front of a fair sized house. "This it?" he asked his companion. "If it is, let's tread carefully, hopefully your brother wont be home."

[ we can start another thread... i'll think about where. xP ]
Mei nodded, biting on her lip. "I can do that... sorry I asked." she replied in a hurry. Sure, she was curious as all hell, but that didn't mean she was going to harass him until he told her. She didn't have many limits, though that was one of them. "We can talk about how NOT to get killed by Kyo instead. If he moves suddenly, duck and run!" She let out a halfhearted laugh, staring at the road out the window.
Hopefully he wouldn't notice the shade of red she turned when his hand grazed her leg. Dammit. "Uh, yeah, this is the place... and there's a light on in the window. He's home."
