Kaori was going up and running because it was her daily routine. Unfortunately, things were in her arms, as well as her precious sketch book. That meant that if she bumped anyone would be tragedy. She didn't want to be late to her classes and that would really be bad if she was late. Kaori hated being scolded. In general, she hated beng yelled at by any teacher. It reduced her to tears and usually running out of the room.
"My god... I can't be... late...!" Kaori protested to herself as she was hurrying up the steps.

Naruto had gotten to school early for once in his entire freshman year. Most of the time he would be busting into the classroom with three seconds to spare or showing up late. He was used to the teacher's giving him tardy slips or giving him detention or even just getting a loud scolding in front of the class. However, he did make an effort to get into the building on time and this morning happened to be one of those days. And he had gotten to Konoha High on time. Except then he realized that he left all his homework on his desk at home. With no other options, he had sprinted to his apartment and returned with his homework and the bell was just about to go off.
The blond was already on homework probation and if he was late for one more class then the principal threatened to suspend him. Naruto ran up to the top if the stairs, but a paper had slipped from his hands. He halted and bent down to pick it up. Just as he did, something collided into him, knocking him on his side. Naruto landed on his rear, blinking dumbfounded at the girl who had crashed into him. He hadn't talked to her, though recalled seeing her in the hallway sometimes. Concerned if she was alright, since she had taken a crash too, he said, "Hey, are you alright?" He noticed she had a panic look, but he wasn't sure if that was from hurrying to class or having knocked into him.
Before he could say anything else to her, the bell rang.

Kaori whimpered slightly, because it did stung, but she realized that it was the warning bell. If she could run fast enough, she could get into class without having anyone noticing that she was late. She gathered most of her things but she forgot her most important thing: her beloved sketchbook that held all the designs of her anime, manga characters and her ideas for the animes and mangas. However she didn't realize this. All she worried about was her perfect attendence. It had to remain spotless. A tardy just looked too ugly to her and being scolded was something she couldn't bear.
She had finished all her homework, of course had eaten breakfast before school, but somehow she napped and it caused her to run. Since Kaori was on the sport teams and she could run as fast as hell could break loose in the school of a stink bomb. And she knew how to run to class as if it would kill her if she stopped. Her face was a dark blush, she had realized she had crashed into a boy. Muttering and picking things up, apologizing, saying she was fine...
"My god, I'm going to be late!" Kaori panicked, as she ran into school, limping slightly. "Late, late, I can't be LATE!"

The panic definitely wasn't from crashing into him. Naruto was a bit confused watching the commotion continue, the girl scrambling to pick up all of her belongs, only muttering words he couldn't hear. It caught the word fine somewhere in there to his question, but that wasn't enough to reassure the blond. Obviously she wasn't okay if she was so stressed out being late for class. He was about to get suspended - which he had already forgot about, worried about the girl. He opened his mouth to ask if she was really alright, but it was too late. She had already stood up and headed for the door, completely out of her mind. That was something coming from Naruto because normally he was the one out of his head. Naruto got to his feet, deciding that he still had a fighting chance to making it on time too.
Picking up his papers that had scattered around the stairs, he stuffed them into his bag, ripping a few of them and crumpling the rest. Just as he was about to go inside, he spotted a sketchbook. Naruto realized the girl must have forgotten it. What if she needed it for class or something? Snatching it off the steps, he ran inside, seeing she was still in sight. Running after her, he called out, "Oi!" to get her attention. Catching up to her and coming to sliding halt, he held out the sketchbook and took a deep breath. "You forgot this!" he exclaimed, his eyes holding sincerity. Handing it over to her, the final bell rang, and classes had started. Naruto groaned and slapped a hand to his face, dragging it down throat in defeat. There was no way he was attending his first class now. He may have another mark for skipping class, but it was better than getting suspended for being late.
He gazed at the girl who was still standing in front of him. It crossed his mind how determined she had been to get to class on time. "Sorry you missed the bell," he said, referring to how paniced she was over it moments ago. "And I totally get not wanting to be late, but are you alright?" he inquired for a second time since the first time he had asked, he hadn't been convinced. "I noticed you were limping," he tilted his head to the side, "I mean, I could take you to the nurse if you hurt your leg."

Kaori held the drawing book close to her, feeling insantly bad. Both of them were late. And she didn't want to go to class. Her leg really was hurting. Her leg had been hurting as of late but she didn't worry about it. But it felt like she had torn a muscle or something. It was like something was ripped apart or something. And it hurt really bad. She was an athlete, she should be used to pain. However, she hoped it was minor. She hoped she wasn't out of the season.
The despressing thing is that she would be at her apartment. Alone, and she didn't like being alone at her own place. What if she had to get something? She couldn't call her parents. It would be too embarassing and they would insist she move back into the house. She worked too hard in order to live on her own.
"I think I have been hurt... Lately after lacrosse practice, I've been starting to limp... At first I ignored it, thinking it was just because my muscle was sore but..." Kaori said, her leg starting to tremble and she was starting to cry. "I can't go to my apartment because if I need something I won't be able to move around and if they call my parents they would want me to move back home..."

The girl didn't say anything in response until he had asked if her leg was alright. She reacted quickly to that, telling him how she began and limp and explaining her thoughts on the matter. Naruto was listening intently, his blue orbs widening dramatically when tears began spilling down her cheeks. He caught sight of her leg trembling as well. She was obviously under a lot of pain and she had been for some time apparently, but had been pushing it aside. Naruto knew how that was, without a doubt. So, he waited for her to trail off talking, hearing how upset she was in every word she spoke.
Taking a step forward, he put his hands on each of her shoulders. "Kaori-chan," he stated calmly, understanding, "don't worry. I'll take care of everything." He gave her a reassuring smile, just in case his word wasn't enough. Yes, Naruto had just met this girl no more than five minutes ago. Yet, he was already taking her problem on his own back and willing to carry the weight without a second thought. He hadn't even had the chance to ask for her name, but he knew it because it was on her sketchbook. "Look, we can head back to my place and I'll have my best friend look at your leg. He works on the hospital, so he knows what he's doing. But you probably shouldn't keep walking on it..." he turned around and lowered himself, giving her easy acsess to his back. "Come on, I'll carry you!" he said with a cheshire smile.

Kaori definitely was blushing. She may have had her job being as inappropriate but she wasn't sure about it. People would ask and she was worried about it. Despite knowing that the nurse would let them go... It just was a scary though. But she pushed it aside. She was hurt and that was that. She couldn't argue. For now it was best to do what she needed for herself.
Though she was not comfortable with not knowing his name, she would ask later. It just seemed a little strange. Kaori didn't know he was willing to help her. Let alone let him stay at her place. And that was the thing... They barely even knew the other. And it felt okay because he was assisting her.
"Alright..." Kaori said, shivering slightly.

With her permission, Naruto helped her on to his back so he could carry her. He didn't recall ever giving anyone a piggyback before, but it proved to be easy. Using his hands to grip behind her knees - just to help her keep balance - he headed for the school door. Naruto had said that his best friend would come over, if you could even call the bastard his best friend. He just labeled Sasuke that because it was too difficult to actually explain to people what he really considered Sasuke. In all honestly, it was going to be hard to convince the raven haired student to come over to help Kaori.
Once getting outside, he realized he hadn't even told the girl his name yet. "By the way! I'm Naruto Uzumaki," he introduced himself kindly. Carefully going down the front steps of the school, he wondered how long it would take to walk to his apartment with her on his back. Probably no more than twenty minutes, he lived pretty close to Konoha High. "You doing alright back there?" he asked, wondering if her leg was getting worse. Naruto had a natural tendency to worry about people.

Kaori grunted. "Yeah, it's really starting to hurt, Naruto..." She whimpered, feeling helpless.
She never felt this scared. Well of course but this was a new type of feeling. She never gotten injured before. And she wanted to o to the nurse before it really started to become agonizing. Softly tears were streaming down her face. She couldn't control her tears because it hurt like hell. And all she really needed was to get there and get there fast. She hoped Naruto's friend could help her and her injury.

The hurt and fear in her voice was obvious to Naruto. He was beginning to regret no to go to the school nurse, but if he went to her all they would do is call an ambulance. That would take even more time than having Sasuke take a look at it. "Just hang in there," he encouraged, his heart beginning to speed up hopelessly. He hated to be in a position where he couldn't do something right away or do it himself. It made him wish he could some type of doctrine skill so that he could help her on the spot, but that simply unrealistic. He didn't have the book intelligence to be medically inclined. Naruto grinded his teeth together, the noise of her crying making his steps increase quicker by the second. What could possibly cause this much pain to her leg? It was his fault. If he hadn't dropped that piece of paper than she never would have crashed into him and injured her leg to this point.
Minutes passed and somehow, his apartment came into view quicker than he had thought. Maybe he had been running without knowing it. Naruto threw the apartment's door open and went up the first slight of stairs, sweat dripping from his face, and he opened the door that belonged to him. The place was small with only one bedroom. a kitchen, a single bathroom, and then a small area where he kept his television, video games and a couch. It was actually clean though since he had taken the time to pick up a few things yesterday, procrastinating on homework. Naruto walked over to the couch and slowly lowered her on to it. "You lay right there, okay? I'm going to call my friend and get you some water and anything I can find to dull the pain." He breathed out, not having yet caught his breath. Running from the school to his house while carrying someone was not an easy task. Luckily the adrenaline he had from feeling the need to help Kaori had made him able to do it quickly though. Naruto turned around and searched for his house phone.

Kaori waited there feeling useless. She shouldn't have pushed herself. But like an idiot, she did. And at her own expense her once good reputation for being on time and no absences had come to an end. And that was really sad. She remained quiet, feeling that she needed to collect and calm herself. But her leg felt like it was on fire. She didn't yelp out in pain at least not yet that is... She hoped that Naruto would hurry.

Naruto had his phone conversation with teme, which annoyed him since he was hung up on. He let it go though, since his main focus was helping Kaori, not getting heated over Sasuke. Placing the phone back on its holder, he advanced toward his bathroom. Opening the door, he flipped on the light switch and walked over to the medicine cabinet. There were a lot of pain killers which he had stored away over the years from the after effects of scuffles he would constantly get into. However, he wished he had something stronger than Advil. Kaori really seemed like she needed something to make her nearly unconscious in order for her to be relieved of the pain she felt.
Grabbing the bottle of Advil with a sense of irritation of not having anything stronger, he flipped the light out and walked back into his living space. The pink haired girl was on the couch and she still hadn't started yelling or anything, which he figured was good sign, even though he could see she was severely struggling. He set the pills down on the side table beside the couch. "Hold on," he told her, moving back to the kitchen and retrieved her a glass of water. Naruto returned and handed her the cup of liquid and shook four pills out of the bottle, giving her those too. "Here, these should do something," he encouraged, not exactly how much they would do. "My friend is on his way," he better be, "but until then, is there anything else I can do?"

Kaori had bit her lip. She knew of several things, specific things. And she wanted to tell him them. Why? Because it made sense to tell. Plus she had the feeling she could throw up. For now she was just going to hopefully get Naruto to do what she told him to. Especially with her injury...
"If there are needles, please have the nurses and doctors knock me out. Even when extraction of blood occurs." Kaori said softly, taking the medicine but not feeling better in the slighest. "And I must warn you. I scream when it comes to pain. Literally... So please don't take anything I say or do the wrong way when that happens..."

Naruto's eyes widened when she made a few requests and gave him warnings. Nurses and doctors? There would only be one person there to help her and Sasuke wasn't neither a nurse or doctor. Just an intern who worked shifts at the hospital, but hell. He could be considered a doctor considering he had already saved more lives than any of those doctors at the age of sixteen."Kaori-chan... I don't think there are going to be any needles. Sasuke's just a high school student, so he won't have any needles or doctor anything, I think," he explained lightly. She seemed to have the thought that this was going to be a big process, but honestly, Naruto couldn't be sure that it wasn't going to be.
Though, the part of screaming made his stomach feel uneasy. There might not be needles, but there probably would be pain - more pain than there already was, that is. "I won't," he assured, "you don't need to worry about me. There's nothing you can do or say that's going to drive me away." That, he could promise without a doubt. Awful things had been said to him through-out his entire childhood and actions, well, he didn't like to even think of those. Naruto was gazing at Kaori with something of reassurance, doing his best to hide the nerves he felt for her. A flood of relief washed over him when he heard a soft knock on the door. "Before I let him in, you also shouldn't take anything personal my friend says either. He's sort of a bastard," he noted before going off to answer the door. Turning the doorknob and swinging the wooden barrier open, he was met with a pair of onyx orbs.

Sasuke had to walk to Naruto's house and kept at a fast pace because of the nervous edge to his voice on the phone. It would be one thing if this girl was Sakura since he had known he for such a long time. But it wasn't. This was all over some girl that the moron had probably just met today. He went up the flight of stairs inside the building and halted on Naruto's apartment door before knocking. He heard the other say something about him being a bastard, obviously forgetting that doors weren't sound proof. Sasuke wasn't offended, if anything, he'd just use it to mock Naruto later on. There was a noise of footsteps and then the door was opened, his eyes meeting a pair of cornflower blue. The raven stepped inside without permission and spotted a pink haired girl lying on the couch, agony written clearly on her face. Now, he could at least see why Naruto had been so panicked over the line.
Walking over to the girl, he looked at the source of her pain - her leg. Sasuke could tell very few things just by sight, which wasn't helpful in what the problem was. All he could know was that is wasn't broken and whatever was happening was completely internal, probably something to do with her calf because of the swelling. There wasn't any bruises or scars which led him to that latter thought. He glanced at Naruto with a stoic facade, "Go get another glass of water." Sasuke didn't state why, but he figured since the blond was so high strung at the moment, he would do it without question. Then, Sasuke peered at the girl, getting closer to her. "I'm going to have to move your leg around to figure out what's wrong. By the state you're in, it's going to hurt a lot," he warned her, although his expression didn't give the slightest of sympathy.

Kaori was watching them with a careful eye. She thought of that this was the man that Naruto was referencing too. It wasn't like she hadn't been around bastards before. She knew a thing or two. Instead of freaking out, she just nodded. She was aware that this was going to hurt. She would only scream a few times before she relaxed from the pain. The way that her leg was swelling wasn't pleasant at all.
She knew what he knew, that neither of them wanted to meet in this situation. His look made that very clear to her. He didn't care about anyone, and his soul seemed a bit black to her. But of course Naruto had trusted him and so she had to trust him too. Even if it was under these type of conditions.
"I trust you." Kaori said softly, as she was willing to obey anything that he had to say.

Sasuke was already ordering him around? He had been inside his house for less than a minute! Naruto's mouth dropped open to reply with an insult or refuse the demand, but the raven's focus had already turned back on to Kaori. His feet stayed planted were they were until he found himself unable to hold still. Maybe getting that glass of water wasn't such a bad idea... Plus, the jerk needed it for whatever reason. Maybe it was to help the pinkette in some way, and he would be helping by retrieving it. Giving in, he turned around on his heels and walked toward the kitchen for the second time. The blond rushed, opening his cabnet, pulling out a clear plastic cup, and shoved it under the running faucet. Once it was filled with an inch away from the top, he advanced back into the living room.
Stopping beside Sasuke, he peered as the Uchiha heir was about to move her leg. His stomach tightened, prepared for the scream that would erupt any second. An image of Sasuke cutting off the girl's leg flashed across his mind -- just like that scene from that horror flick he accidentally walked in on. That picture of Sasuke doing that creeped him the fuck out. Because he could actually see the bastard doing that to someone, which made it all the worse. Vanishing the thought away, his grip tightened around the glass and he gazed at Kaori. She trusted Sasuke? Naruto was pretty damn sure he was the only one in the entire world he honestly trusted the demeaning bastard. Maybe she trusted Sasuke because he trusted him? After all, he was helping her and he did carry her all the way to his apartment from the school. That earned him her trust, didn't it. Naruto grinned lightly, with both worry and relief that she trusted his friend, "Hey, you'll be fine. He's an expert." Naruto said, punching the raven in his arm playfully. Although, only someone he knew him well would have known that he wasn't in a light mood at all.
NOTE: FAIL FOR BEING SO LATE D: Gomen!
