It was really fucking cold outside. Wet too. Jimmy discovered this with dismay as he stared out the club's window, his face pressed to it. He did not want to get wet. "Whyyyyy?" he whined, looking quite like a puppy that had just been kicked. He hated rain with a burning passion. It messed up his hair, it ruined the awesomeness of his clothes, and weird noises ensued. It also damaged the upholstery in his awesome car- oh no. He'd forgotten, once again, to roll up the windows of his Chevy. And then came the announcement over the loudspeakers, the music dying away. "Attention all patrons! We have been informed that there is a high possibility of a flash flood.. patrons are encouraged to get home as soon as possible."Well shit.

Asame Suzuki shivered at the announcement. She was currently standing in a secluded corner, alone, staring out at the idle activities of the other people in the club, half-heartedly wishing she was confident enough to enjoy herself there. She'd only come because she was encouraged to do the same activities everyone else did, but she wasn't everyone else. This thought made her pause. Of course she wasn't everyone else. Nobody could be everyone else. Everyone else refers to more than one person. How could you be more than one person at a time? She silently deliberated the phrase. It wasn't until several minutes later that she realized she'd been staring at some random guy. He seemed to be rapt in something happening out the window. She continued staring at him, wondering exactly what was out that window that amused him so. Eventually, she couldn't stand it any more. What if someone was being murdered outside? Or raped? Or what if there was a clown swallowing a flaming sword? Ugh. Asame hated clowns. They were too creepy. What kind of person just smiled? An endless, deliberate smile that conveyed a silent wish for one to be killed slowly and painfully? But it would be pretty cool to see a clown swallow a flaming sword. So she approached the boy and the apparently enthralling window.
She was disappointed. Oh so very disappointed. The stranger seemed to be staring at only the rain. There was no rape, no murder, no clown swallowing a flaming sword. Only rain. Rain wasn't that interesting! Just falling drops of water that came from huge gray clouds that seemed to swallow the entire sky. But nothing could swallow the sky.... Right? The sky isn't really one thing, it's just a general, abstract idea of the space between the earth and its atmosphere, or beyond into space. Nothing could be big enough to swallow such a large space. If something was that big, it'd occupy all the empty space on earth and probably kill a large number of people. Surely someone would know of such a thing. It must be the clowns. In her frustration, Asame groaned. "Hey! Kid! You disappointed me. Hugely. With you staring out that window like you are, I thought something important must be occurring. But noooo, just rain. They're just raindrops! Seriously. Rain isn't that entertaining. It gets you wet as it falls from the sky." She narrowed her eyes first at the boy, then at the rain. Curse the rain. Why couldn't the rain be a flaming-sword-swallowing-homicidal-clown raping Godzilla?!
